Founded in 2011 as Hoy & Miller Consulting, LLC, Miller Building Group developed from decades of hands-on experience in construction defect analysis and litigation support. What began as a focused consulting practice has evolved into a multi-service firm trusted on thousands of complex projects nationwide.
Over the years, our team has consulted on more than 6,000 projects, including high-rise residential, mixed-use, and commercial claims. Our methodical, detail-driven, and informed approach has been shaped by a deep understanding of building envelope performance, how exterior systems manage water, air, vapor, and thermal control, and how those systems are intended to perform over the service life of a building.
As client needs expanded, so did our services. Miller Building Group transitioned from a niche consulting firm into a comprehensive construction advisory partner. Our services include turnover consulting, litigation support, warranty evaluations, drone services, and on-demand construction support for issues that arise throughout the building process.
To further extend our expertise, we established affiliated entities such as Prairie Creek Homes. Our expansion into home building allows us to apply our technical knowledge directly to sustainable residential development and gain additional perspective from the builder’s side of the industry.
Miller Building Group operates at the intersection of construction, risk, and accountability. Our differentiation comes from both how we work and what we know.
With extensive experience supporting trials, final hearings, and depositions, we understand the legal environment in which our work is used. Every report, inspection, and opinion is developed with defensibility in mind.
Our field teams are trained and certified to perform objective, accurate assessments grounded in industry standards and best practices.
We follow rigorous internal procedures to ensure consistency, reliability, and quality across every project, regardless of size or scope.
From initial inquiry through final deliverables, our team is committed to transparency, professionalism, and client advocacy.
We support projects across their full lifecycle, from turnover and warranty evaluations to proactive issue identification and on-demand construction consulting.
Our focused expertise in building envelope performance and failure analysis provides a level of accuracy and insight that distinguishes our work.
At Miller Building Group, staying engaged with the broader construction community is an important part of how we work. Our involvement with industry organizations helps ensure our approach remains thoughtful, informed, and aligned with established standards.
We maintain active participation in organizations such as the International Code Council (ICC), ASTM International, and InterNACHI. These relationships support ongoing learning and reinforce our commitment to clear, consistent, and well-supported evaluations.
We strongly believe in supporting the communities where we live and work.
Miller Build Group is immensely proud to be involved in organizations focused on housing access, repair, and long-term resilience, including, but not limited to:
Rebuilding Together and Appalachia Service Project.
These commitments reflect our mission and belief that our work goes beyond individual projects and contributes to stronger standards, safer buildings, and healthier communities over time.
